GCSE Announcement- Headteacher Update

Dear Parent of year 11 (Class of 2020)

A welcomed announcement came last on Tuesday 18th August: Year 11 pupils will be awarded their centre assessment grades, or will keep their calculated grade (whichever is higher).

We would like to reassure you that centre assessed grades have been awarded by our teaching staff who have undergone a robust assessment  of pupils progress which includes work produced in class, performance in PPE tests and a summative judgement based upon potential performance.

Essentially this means that no pupils’ results will go down as a result of the announcement from those predicted , they can only go up.

We are still awaiting more information from central government on how grades will be reported and whether an appeals process will be accessible. We will update you in due course

Yours sincerely

Phil Davis
