Facemasks Update

Dear Parent/Carer

Face Masks

As I’m sure you are aware, the national context regarding COVID-19 is a constantly evolving
picture. Every day, we make adjustments to our practice in the academy which helps us to
keep our whole academy community safe from harm and healthy.

From Monday 14th September, ALL children will be required to wear either a black or
clinical face mask at the end of the academy day when exiting the building and when leaving
the premises. Children will don their face masks when instructed to do so by their class
teacher prior to leaving their classroom.

This time of the academy day is by far the busiest and most congested therefore, both children
and staff, will be expected to wear face masks until the building is empty.

To ease congestion, there will be a slightly staggered finish to the end of the academy day to
allow each year group bubble to exit the building safely, allowing for social distancing.
As I’m sure you appreciate, it is virtually impossible for the academy to enforce social
distancing beyond our perimeter gates. Please could I request that you direct your child/ren
to make their way home after school promptly, reducing congestion directly outside the

We continue to prioritise the health, safety and wellbeing of our wider academy community
and we thank you for your ongoing patience and support. The safety and health of our
community can be preserved if we work together.
