The Academy trust is proposing a formal change to the net capacity of the Academy. It currently has a capacity of 975 students. We are proposing that the net capacity is increased permanently to 1200 students. The proposal is a direct result of families from outside of the traditional catchment area wanting a place at our Academy. This change will not exclude any child from being admitted to Wingfield Academy from the designated Wingfield catchment area: Greasborough, Roughwood, Rockingham and Redscope as children from these primary schools will have priority , nor will it disadvantage any student that currently attends our school. The change is simply to formalise an already exiting temporary arrangement and provide more space and more specialised resources for our children.
Increasing our net capacity will ensure that we can continue to welcome families from across Rotherham who select Wingfield as their first choice, reduce waiting lists and also guarantee funding levels are sufficient to deliver the same level of outstanding provision without the fear of restricting the opportunities available. If income streams improve so can the provision for our young people. We believe increasing our net capacity will help us improve the educational standards for all our young people.
We would appreciate it if you could complete the following google form before 12noon Sunday 25th July 2021 so that we can submit our application to the department for education.
