A nail-biting wait for this year’s GCSE results came to an end on Thursday, 22nd August, with students at Wingfield Academy receiving news that would shape their future. We are delighted to announce this year’s GCSE results, with students achieving on average a third of a grade higher than other schools locally. We are thrilled to see that their determination, ambition and resilience has resulted in this success. We would like to send our congratulations to all students who have worked exceptionally hard, engaged with all aspects of school life to achieve qualifications and skills.
This year’s results reflect our continued drive for excellence with students once again achieving a positive progress score of +0.44 (unvalidated). A significant proportion of students secured a ‘good pass’ in English and Maths, with 67% of students achieving a grade 4 or above in English and Maths. Additionally, 49% of students achieved a ‘strong pass’ of grade 5 and above in English and Maths. The results achieved provide our students with a solid foundation for further education, opening doors to a wide range of future opportunities.

Year on year, they and their teachers, turn out these performances and they deserve this success. They have worked exceptionally hard and it is great to see that this hard work has paid off. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch all our students grow and thrive. Having met this vital milestone, they have many options for their lives after Wingfield”.
The results not only represent the effort and dedication at an individual level, but they also represent the collective efforts of an exceptional staff body who work tirelessly to improve the life chances of our young people.
